Le Grand Hôtel de La Muse et Du Rozier provides a great deal of breath-taking outdoors sports. From Causses to Cévennes, you may as well go underground, fly up in the air, sail on the river…or go hiking at your own pace.

Hand-gliding ad paragliding.

Here you go for a good old adrenaline rush ! Thanks to the countless ups and downs of the landscape, from Causses plateaux to Cévennes mountains , here is heaven for all kinds of outdoors sports. Let us mention that Millau is world-wide renowned as ULM fanatics’ main stronghold.
Canoe must have been invented to ride on the Tarn, mainly on its Lozere part. And there are so many wonderful paths to go hiking up and down the Causses.
You’re dreaming to fly UlMs or Deltaplanes ? Here is the place for you !
Forget about gravity, let’s fly with the eagles ! There simply is no place like Millau to try deltaplane or parashooting.

Canyoning, rafting and canoe
Take a good, deep breath, jump and whirl around these narrow canyons of Tarn, Aveyron and La Dourbie. Will you dare to try those wild Southern Lozère and Cévennes rivers, with their savage streams and unbelievable sights ? Ride through cascades, enjoy natural toboggans, fly high in the sky !

Are there better ways to enjoy such a gorgeous countryside, but to let yourself glide along the Gorges du Tarn the quiet way, paddling with your partner ? Perhaps will you stop at that funny-looking barge right in the middle of the river. The Grand Hotel is there waiting for you, with refreshments, sandwiches. Whatever’s fit for a good outdoors day !

Climbing and speleology

Going up, going down, The Causses present a wide range of activities. Since modern speleology was invented in Millau, the town is now well-known as “capital of the Causses, canyons and caverns”.

Free biking

Hand on to your bike ! Astounding downs in the woods, heart-pumping ups in the hills, you can’t escape, just let them roll ! You shall never forget the Causse Mejean nor the Causse Noir near the Aigual mounts.

Hiking on the Causses
The grand Hotel is a natural start for any kind of hiking. The toughest raids go through the Méjean, Sauveterre and Caussenoir areas. Many paths start from Grand Hotel :
Take GR6A for Le Rozier to Causse Méjean, try the GR2 on Causse Noir, or walk the Vallée du Tarn road. Le Rozier is the focal point to numerous hike paths, some of them the most famous of the whole district.

You may for instance go on the Causses flank to the Hourtou rock. If lucky, you may there spot some Bouldras vultures nest – including mother and offsprings.

The bravest ones will go for Mont Aigual (1565 m. high) and its unbelievable panorama – but they shall not forget some woollen clothes…
